The Power of Prayer

My mission is to equip, empower and encourage believers to unlock their God given calling and purposes based upon biblical truths written in the Word of God. 

In order to fulfill one's calling, we must learn how to pray as the Holy Spirit leads for our lives, families, communities, businesses, ministries, Leaders and the nation. We must learn how to make powerful proclamations and declarations aligned with the Word of God and His will.

Today, having been equipped and trained in spiritual warfare over many years, my prayers have become more intentional, focused and powerful by praying and declaring the Word of God over myself, my family and those I am called on assignment to, as well as those I am led to intercede for. 

Below, I share some powerful prayers and declarations to assist you in being victorious over the 'wiles of the enemy'.

Let us pray!

Every morning when I awake, the first thing I do is give thanksgiving and praise to the Lord for His lovingkindness and mercy that endures forever! 

I thank Him for His sacrifice on the Cross, for His Word that He exalts above His very name, and for the Holy Spirit - our Comforter and Guide. I thank Him for my health, my family, ministry, trustworthy friendships, etc. The list is always long. I begin each day in gratitude for the 'gift of another day' for it is written - we shall rejoice in it and be glad! 

Afterwards, I begin to praise the Lord through reading out loud specific Psalms of Ascents and declaring the names of the Most High Living God, including the 7 I AM's Jesus declares in the Book of John announcing different aspects of His identity and ministry.

Then, I begin to pray by pleading the Blood of Jesus over myself and family. It is His Blood (spiritually) that cleanses us, redeems us, sanctifies us, reckons us righteous, justifies us, intercedes for us on our behalf, gives us life eternal and protects us from all evil. Praise the Lord!

This is how I pray, "I plead and apply the Blood of Jesus over me, my family, my home, possessions and over everything that concerns me. I plead and apply the Blood of Jesus over our spirits, souls, minds and bodies, down to the nucleus of every cell and I command every cell, organ, tissue in our bodies to come into divine alignment with our Lord Jesus Christ.  

Then, I activate my armor of God according to Ephesians 6:14-17 and declare Psalm 91 from memory. I do not start my day or activities without thanksgiving, praise, prayer and worship. It sets the atmosphere for my day, as I take authority over my day and command the morning. (A prayer for commanding the morning link is below.)

Activating the Armor of God:

Father, I put on the whole 'armor of God' according to Ephesians 6:14- 17. I put on my waistbelt of truth, my breastplate of righteousness, which is faith + love, my feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, my helmet of salvation which is hope, my shield of faith to quench all of the enemy's darts, and I command that shield to go up and around me and my family and to shield our heads from all the fiery darts of the wicked one; I take the Sword of the Spirit which is the Spirit and the Word of God, and I activate my Sword to destroy all the snares, plans, attacks, assignments, schemes, plots and calendar of the enemy for my life and the lives of my family so that we may walk in power, authority, victory and blessing You have ordained for us.

Decree and declare Psalm 91 - over you, your family and day: 

I declare:

You who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 

I shall say of the Lord, You are my Refuge and my Fortress my God in whom I trust.

Surely you shall deliver me from the snare of the 

fowler and from the perilous pestilence, 

You shall cover me with your feathers and 

under your wings I shall take refuge. 

Your Truth shall be my shield and buckler.

I shall not be afraid of the terror by night,

nor of the arrows that fly by day, 

nor of the pestilence that roams in the darkness, 

nor of destruction at noon day.

Though a thousand shall fall by my side, 

ten thousand by my right hand 

nigh me (and my family) it shall not come.

Because I have made the Lord my Refuge, 

even the Most High my dwelling place, 

no evil shall befall me or my family; 

nor shall any plague come nigh our dwelling,

For You will give Your Angels charge over me to guard me in all of your ways. They will bear us up in their hands lest we dash our foot upon a stone. (Thank you, Father, that your angels are guarding me and my family this day.)

We shall tread upon the lion and the cobra and the young lion and the serpent we shall trample under foot (Note: *this is symbolic of spiritual warfare)

Because we have set our love upon You, 

You will deliver us. (Thank You, Father for all the times you have delivered me and my family from danger!)

You shall set us on high because we have known Your name,

We will call upon You and You will answer us, 

You will be with us in trouble, 

You will deliver us and honor us, 

With long lasting life You will satisfy us and show us Your salvation. 

I seal this declaration over me, my family and this day by the Blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ of Nazareth. 

Amen.
